C. J. Tudor é natural de Salisbury e cresceu em Nottingham. Vive em Sussex com o marido e a filha.
O seu amor pela escrita, em especial pelo macabro e pelo sinistro, manifestou-se desde cedo. Enquanto os jovens da sua idade liam Judy Blume, ela devorava as obras de Stephen King e de James Herbert.
