Je ne me suis jamais aimé. mais je me suis cru supérieur parfois. a quoi donc ? plus noble que la bourgeoisie honnête oú nous vivions, plus haut que ceux dont le but était de goûter la vie et préserver la paix des leurs. que m'ont donné les livres sinon l'illusion d'être un prince ? une irrémédiable distance entre moi et mes proches. ou bien, quand je n'aimais plus me faire croire à mon rôle prophétique j'étais le dernier des derniers, mais ma fange n'était que fange de théâtre et je ne suis pas descendu assez bas.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Olivier Py

Olivier Py, born in 1965 in Grasse, is a French playwright and director. He is also an actor and director.
He enrolled at the National School of Arts and Techniques of Theatre and in 1987, at CNSAD. Olivier Py also studied philosophy and theology. He took over from Stéphane Braunschweig in 1998, and in 1997, he was appointed director of the National Drama Center of Orleans, where he created many remarkable performances.
Olivier Py was entrusted with directing the Avignon Festival in September 2013.
At the same time, he still has an international career as an opera director.
