ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Yungblud

YUNGBLUD, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, was born on August 5, 1997, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. He is a British singer, songwriter, and actor who has gained notoriety for his energetic and rebellious approach to music, blending rock, punk, and hip-hop with lyrics that address themes such as mental health, identity, and revolt against social norms.

From a young age, YUNGBLUD showed an interest in music, influenced by a family with a musical background—his father owned a guitar shop and his grandfather was a musician. At just 11 years old, he wrote his first song, and after moving to London, he began to seriously dedicate himself to a musical career.

YUNGBLUD released their first single, "King Charles," in 2017, followed by "I Love You, Will You Marry Me" and "Tin Pan Boy," which quickly captured the attention of a young audience. In 2018, he released his debut album, 21st Century Liability, which blended aggressive sounds with provocative lyrics, establishing him as a relevant voice in the alternative music scene. Songs like "Polygraph Eyes" addressed serious issues such as sexual harassment, reflecting his commitment to social issues.

YUNGBLUD's success continued to grow with the release of The Underrated Youth EP in 2019 and their second studio album, Weird!, in 2020. The latter was particularly well-received, featuring a more diverse sound and exploring the complexity of identity and youth in the modern era.

In 2022, he released his self-titled third album YUNGBLUD, which further cemented his position as one of the most prominent figures in alternative music today. The album explores themes of self-discovery and resistance, reflecting his evolution as an artist and individual.

In addition to his music, YUNGBLUD is known for his distinctive visual style and strong connection with his fans, often referred to as "Yungblud Army". He has also been active on social issues, participating in protests and using his platform to advocate for causes such as LGBTQIA+ rights and mental health.
