Gabriele Clima was born in Milan in 1967. A writer and illustrator of children's books, he has published a wide variety of works for different age groups, from early childhood to young adult novels. He is a frequent presence in schools, where he conducts sessions on reading and writing, always proposing children's and young adult literature as a powerful tool for understanding current reality. His books, translated into about 15 languages, often address social issues such as poverty, diversity, integration, and immigration. His work Il sole fra le dita In 2017, it was awarded the Andersen Prize (from the eponymous Italian magazine on children's and young adult literature) in the category "Best book for over 15s"; the same work is still part of the selection of IBBY One of the 50 best books in the world about disability.
