João Pedro Figueiredo é jurista na RTP, exercendo actualmente o cargo de adjunto do ministro dos Assuntos Parlamentares. Exerceu o cargo de adjunto do secretário de Estado da Comunicação Social (1995-2002). Possui uma pós-graduação em Direito da Comunicação Social pelo Instituto Jurídico da Comunicação da Faculdade de Direito de Coimbra e outra em Direito da Sociedade da Informação pela Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa. Foi director de programas da Rádio Universidade de Coimbra.
