Alberto Arons de Carvalho é deputado e lecciona a cadeira de Direito e Deontologia da Comunicação Social na Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Exerceu o cargo de secretário de Estado da Comunicação Social entre 1995 e 2002. Foi jornalista no República e em A Luta. Foi membro do Conselho de Imprensa, dos Conselhos de Informação para a Imprensa e para a RDP e da Comissão de elaboração da Lei de Imprensa de 1975. Publicou seis livros e inúmeros artigos sobre temas relativos à comunicação social.
