Bruno Félix Mateus Oliveira nasceu em Lisboa, a 4 de Julho de 1978. Em 2002, licenciou-se em Desporto na Faculdade de Ciências, Desporto e Educação Física da Universidade do Porto (FCDEF - UP), com especialização em Alto Rendimento - Futebol (classificação de 20 valores na tese de licenciatura, intitulada Um Embuste: A Qualidade do Futebol Italiano? Um Novo Ponto de Partida: a Estrutura Acontecimental da... «Carga versus Desempenho»). Paralelamente à formação académica, estagiou durante duas épocas na SS Lazio, com Sven Goran Eriksson, vendo este clube sagrar-se campeão de Itália. Estagiou ainda noutros clubes, nomeadamente no Real Madrid, Manchester United, Parma AC e Fiorentina. Jogou futebol em clubes como o SL Nelas, o SC Lusitânia dos Açores e o Académico de Viseu. Frequenta o curso de treinadores da UEFA na Scottish FA.
