António Costa Pinto é investigador coordenador no Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-UL) e professor Catedrático convidado no ISCTE-Instituto Universtário de Lisboa.
Foi professor convidado na Universidade de Stanford (1993) e Georgetown (2004), e investigador visitante nas universidades de Princeton (1996), Universidade da California - Berkeley (2000 e 2010) e na Universidade de Nova Iorque (2017).
Foi também presidente da Associação Portuguesa de Ciência Política.
Entre as suas publicações recentes: Os Camisas Azuís (3ª edição, Edições 70, 2014), A Vaga Corporativa. Corporativismo e Ditaduras na Europa e na América Latina (2016).
