Katie Kirby é formada em Marketing e Publicidade, escritora e ilustradora. Trabalhou durante alguns anos em agências de comunicação, em Londres, o que significava ir a restaurantes da moda e fazer de conta que sabia do que estava a falar. Depois, foi mãe e resolveu começar um blogue onde fala das tremendas injustiças da parentalidade. Como muita gente lhe disse que tinha um sentido de humor disparatado e imaturo, resolveu vingar-se escrevendo livros para miúdas e miúdos. Katie gosta de coelhos, de pensar muito sobre as coisas, do cheiro das lavandarias e de nachos picantes. Não gosta de perder em jogos de tabuleiro nem de escrever sobre si própria na terceira pessoa.
