Finding Beauty

If I had to choose one word for this book, it would be: emotion(s). Well, please let me select two: emotions and pain. After finishing it today, my heart is equal parts full of appreciation for this new-author-to-me that is Ann and of certainty that I will read everything Ann wrote until now and will write from now on. Ann gave us the story of Melanie (Lanie) and Scott. Melanie is a billionaire heiress and Scott is a poor boy. The first half of the book is set when they are 17 in LA and they fall irremediably in love. Although I am not a fan of teenagers books, I absolutely adored reading them and witnessing their young love. Without major spoilers, they are two beautiful people living in desperate and hopeless situations. And they were not meant to stay together due to their upbringings. Fast forward to 11 years later. NYC. Scott is a self made man, top rich lawyer, owning his millionaire law firm, and Lanie has finally cut the ties to her dysfunctional family and is trying to survive in the big city. The way they reconnect and start a fresh relationship and work their problems and their hopes, and the way they (always have) love each other... wow, their story is a dream come true in a city where: "Concrete jungle There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York " A perfect second chance romance. This book will stay in my favorites.
