SOBRE O AUTOR
Sayaka Murata
Sayaka Murata nasceu em Inzai, no Japão, em 1979. Em criança gostava de ler ficção científica e policiais e, aos dez anos, já sonhava escrever romances, pelo que a mãe lhe ofereceu um processador de texto. A família mudou-se para Tóquio quando ela estava na escola secundária e foi na capital que frequentou a Universidade Tamagawa. É uma das mais mediáticas romancistas contemporâneas e os seus livros ganharam prestigiantes prémios literários. Escreveu para a revista Granta e foi nomeada Mulher do Ano pela Vogue japonesa em 2016. Trabalha em part-time numa loja de conveniência na cidade de Tóquio, porque diz que a observação quotidiana das pessoas num lugar como esse é francamente inspiradora para a sua obra. A escrita de Sayaka Murata explora o inconformismo com as regras sociais, especialmente no tocante ao papel das mulheres, à paternidade, à assexualidade e ao celibato voluntário.
