ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Colombe Schneck

Colombe Schneck is a French journalist, filmmaker, and writer. Born in 1966 into a bourgeois family of Parisian Jews, she studied at Institute of Political Studies from Paris and in University of Paris II, and worked for several French media outlets. He made two documentaries in 1999 (Nucléaire, un si long silence and When you fall on television), and two feature films for the Elzevir Productions and the Arte channel: Femmes sans enfant, femmes suspect, in 2014, and Old Lovers, in 2015. He is a member of the collective 50/50, which advocates for equality and diversity in film and audiovisual media.
Author of more than a dozen fiction and non-fiction books, she has received awards. Madame Figaro and the French Writers' Society, in addition to being a finalist for the awards. Renaudot, Female and InteralliéShe is also a scholarship recipient at Villa Medici, in Rome, and from French Institute, as well as a subsidy Stendhal, which allows French writers to conduct research and writing residencies abroad.
