ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nick Harkaway

Nick Harkaway was born in Cornwall in 1972. He is the author of eight novels, including The World Gone-Away, Angelmaker, Tigerman, Gnomon and Titanium Noir, as well as the story of George Smiley Karla's Choice.
Harkaway, whose real name is Nicholas Cornwell, is the fourth child of David Cornwell (who used the pseudonym John le Carré) and his second wife, Jane Cornwell. In 2021, after the death of John le Carré, Harkaway assumed the role of the writer by publishing le Carré's last unpublished novel. SilverviewHe said at the time that the purpose of the exercise was to achieve the greatest possible invisibility. In 2022 he was called upon to carry out the necessary final work in A Private Spy, a collection of his father's letters, following the unfortunate death of his older brother, Tim Cornwell, who was preparing the edition of the work. His other brothers, Simon and Stephen Cornwell, are the founders of The Ink Factory, the mini film and television studio behind the television series The Night ManagerHe lives in London with his wife and two children.
