Michael Gregorio é o pseudónimo criado pela dupla Daniela De Gregorio and Michael G. Jacob, casados desde 1980. Vivem em Spoleto, uma pequena localidade da Umbria, Centro de Itália. Daniela é professora de Filosofia, e Michael, também professor, ensina Inglês e História da Fotografia. O sucesso que tiveram com a publicação do seu primeiro romance levou-os a continuar a série de thrillers psicológicos em torno da personagem do magistrado Hanno Stiffeniis.
