Neste "The World we Make" N.K. Jemisin expande o a história do primeiro livro, e a ameaça já não paira só sobre Nova Iorque, mas sobre todo o mundo. E talvez seja aí que perde um pouco da magia do primeiro, que se lê quase como uma declaração à cidade da autora, este tenta ser tudo em toda a parte. Algumas personagens acabam por perder-se no fundo da história, e servem apenas como peões para alguma acção necessária. Gostei mais do "The City we Became", mas este também é bom pois a escrita de Jemisin nunca desilude.
