Bettany Hughes

Bettany Hughes é uma historiadora laureada, autora e apresentadora. Nascida em 1967 e criada no oeste de Londres, é autora de duas obras aclamadas sobre a Grécia Antiga, Helena de Tróia (2005) e The Hemlock Cup: Socrates, Athens and the Search for the Good Life (2010). Esta última obra foi um bestseller do New York Times, Livro da Semana da BBC Radio 4 e finalista do Writers Guild Award. Hughes é autora e apresentadora de filmes e séries documentais sobre temas da antiguidade e da modernidade para a National Geographic, BBC, Discovery Channel, PBS, The History Channel e Channel 4. Em julho de 2012, começou a coapresentar uma série na ITV com Michael Buerk intitulada Britain's Secret Treasures. É orientadora no Institute of Continuing Education da Universidade de Cambridge e bolsista de investigação no King's College London.
