ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Eudora Welty

Eudora Welty (1909-2001), a Pulitzer Prize winner, is one of the most prominent writers in 20th-century American literature. Her writing is characterized by a sense of brotherhood with humanity and the world, and by the lyricism of her descriptions of everyday life. In her work, the vivid portrayal of the physical and human landscape of the Southern states is combined with a political awareness centered on gender identity and racial issues. Welty left behind a vast photographic archive depicting the Black community in the 1930s. AntĆgona has published works by this author. The Winds and Other Tales, in 2008.
