Sam Shepard

Sam Shepard is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of more than 55 plays and three short story collections. As an actor, he appeared in more than 60 films, having been nominated for an Oscar in 1984. He was a finalist for the W.H. Smith Literary Prize for his book of short stories Great Dream of Heaven. He has been an honorary doctor of Trinity College, Dublin, since 2012. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, he received the Gold Medal for Drama from it.
