ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tara Brach

Dr. Tara Brach is today one of the best-known Vipassana meditation teachers in the West. After graduating in Psychology, she lived for ten years in an ashram—a spiritual community—where she practiced and taught yoga and meditation. However, it was later, at a Buddhist retreat, that she discovered her "home." She returned to university, completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of California (Santa Barbara), and a five-year course in Buddhism at [institution name missing]. Spirit Rock Meditation Center, where she became a teacher. In 1998, the author founded the Insight meditation community of Washington, DC (IMCW), which is currently one of the most dynamic meditation centers in the United States. The author teaches classes and conducts retreats and workshops in various parts of the US and Europe. Her podcast has over 1.5 million downloads per month.
