ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Andreas Huyssen

Andreas Huyssen is a professor of German and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in New York, where he founded and directed the Center for Comparative Literature and Society (1998-2003), and also served as director of the Department of Germanic Languages ​​(1986-1992; 2005-2008). Winner of the Mark van Doren Award (2005), granted by Columbia University to those who demonstrate "humanitarian spirit, devotion to truth, and inspiring leadership," he is also one of the founding directors of the journal New German Critique (1974-). Since 2009, Andreas Huyssen has been a member of the Advisory/Editorial Board of the CECC journal, Comunicação & Cultura.
