O Exorcista

William Peter Blatty was born in New York and graduated from Georgetown University. He held numerous jobs, from Electrolux vacuum cleaner salesman to beer truck driver. He joined the U.S. Air Force, where he headed the political aspect of the psychological warfare division. Later, he was deployed to Lebanon as part of the U.S. Intelligence Agency.
Back in the United States, in 1960 he published his first book. "Which Way to Mecca, Jack?", a humorous account of his days in Lebanon. After a decade dedicated to writing screenplays and comedies, Blatty returns to writing books.
Legend has it that he retreated to a cabin in the remote Lake Tahoe region, where he wrote. The ExorcistThis work marked his career, having remained in the top sales charts for 57 weeks. The New York Times newspaper, 17 of which were number 1. Later, Blatty transformed The Exorcist in a script that resulted in one of the most famous horror films of all time.
