SYNOPSIS

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hisham Matar
Hisham Matar é um romancista, ensaísta e memorialista britânico-líbio, nascido nos Estados Unidos da América. Passou a infância em Trípoli, na Líbia, até que a família foi forçada ao exílio devido à oposição política do pai ao regime de Khadafi. Mudaram-se para o Egito e, em 1990, o pai foi sequestrado por agentes do governo líbio, o que marcou profundamente a vida e a obra de Matar. O seu romance de estreia, Em Terra de Homens, foi finalista do Man Booker Prize em 2006. O seu livro de memórias sobre a busca pelo pai, O Regresso, venceu o Pulitzer na categoria de Biografia ou Autobiografia em 2017. Os seus ensaios foram publicados na The New Yorker, no The Guardian e no The New York Times, entre outras publicações.
