ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Daniel Galera

Daniel Galera was born in São Paulo in 1979, but spent a large part of his life in Porto Alegre. A writer and translator of contemporary English-language literature, he was one of the creators of the publishing house Livros do Mal, through which he launched his debut book, Dentes Guardados (2001), and the first edition of Até o Dia em Que o Cachorro Morreu (2003), which was later adapted for film. His novel Mãos de Cavalo (2006) was included in the reading list for the UFG entrance exam for three consecutive years. Cordilheira (2008) received the Machado de Assis Prize for Fiction from the National Library Foundation and came in third place in the Fiction category of the Jabuti Prize. His books are published in England, the United States, France, Italy, Argentina, Romania, and the Netherlands. Barba Ensopada de Sangue is his first book published by Quetzal.
