Carlos Guimarães Pinto

Carlos Guimarães Pinto é economista, consultor de estratégia e deputado na Assembleia da República. Doutorado em Economia pela Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto, já trabalhou, como consultor de estratégia nas áreas das telecomunicações e digital, em mais de 20 países e 4 continentes.

É um dos mais empenhados divulgadores do liberalismo em Portugal, defendendo sempre que a prosperidade nasce da liberdade e que o Estado deve servir as pessoas, e não o contrário. Foi nesse âmbito que presidiu à Iniciativa Liberal, entre 2018 e 2019 – período em que o partido alcançou pela primeira vez a Assembleia da República –, e que fundou o Instituto +Liberdade – de que foi o primeiro diretor-executivo –, dedicado à divulgação do pensamento liberal e à promoção da literacia financeira.

Autor de vários artigos, palestras e livros, Carlos Guimarães Pinto alia como poucos o pensamento académico à experiência prática, fazendo do sentido de humor e da ironia ferramentas que diferenciam as suas intervenções no Parlamento e na vida política nacional.
