Xavier Queipo

Xavier Queipo (Xavier Álvarez Vázquez) (Santiago, 1957). Bachelor's degree in Biology. Doctor. Currently lives in Brussels. As a novelist, he has published the following titles: "Arctic and Other Seas", published in Portugal, (1990) Spanish Critics' Prize; "Ringside" (1993), short stories; "Diaries of a Nomad" (1993); "Contours" (1994); "The Xardín of Circular Ideas", short story included in Berra Liberdade (1996); "The Northwest Pass" (1996), novel, García Barros Prize; "Nine Metraxes", short story included in the volume "Narrators of Cinema" (1996); "Mundiños" (1997); "Instruction Manual" (1999); "Sentimental Malaria" (1999), novel; "Papaventos" (2001), a novel translated into Portuguese by Deriva in 2003 under the title "Bebendo o Mar"; "O ládron de esperma" (2002), short stories, winner of the Café Dublin Prize. In addition, his short story "A illa dos lêmures" is included in the volume "Materia prima" (2002). As a poet, he has published "Nos dominios de Leviatan" (2001) and Glosarios (2004). He participated in the 6th edition of the Correntes d'Escritas literary festival in Póvoa de Varzim in 2005, alongside prominent figures in Iberian literature.
