ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alexandre Sarrazola

Alexandre Sarrazola has a degree in Archaeology and a postgraduate degree in Heritage Law.
With further training in Screenwriting and Theatre, he also worked as a radio announcer.
She has worked in the field of Cultural Heritage since 1996 and has been a columnist for patrimonio.pt since 2018.
He is the author of poetry books. Thaumatrope (Averno, 2007) View-Master (Dead Language, 2013) Fade Out (National Press–Mint, 2016; honorable mention of the Vasco Graça Moura Award), Adobe Tributaries (with Diniz Conefrey and Maria João Worm, Jade Room, 2018) and MACH (Mazu Press, 2020).
As a fiction writer, he published Neophytes (Averno, 2014) A Room at the Beziehungswahn Guesthouse (The Boogeyman, 2014) Kinderszenen (Companhia das Ilhas, 2015 - recommendation for the national reading plan) Tales For a Mermaid Queen (Hierro Lopes Ed.), Smalloch (Companhia das Ilhas, 2018), Triq Gatto Murina (Companhia das Ilhas, 2018) and Dilmun (Mazu Press, 2019). Collaborated with RDP-Antena 2 on radio drama with the company. Entrées de Jeux–Usina and with the São João National Theatre. He published the plays Sunday (moscaMorta, 2012) and Small portrait of Guerra Junqueiro (moscaMorta, 2013) and adapted for the stage The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner (Teatromosca, 2015-2019).
He is a visual artist, having exhibited solo shows. Barely Legal Portraits (Lx Factory – LerDevagar, 2020) Childhood is a Notion of Geography (World Heritage/patrimonio.pt, 2020) and SCAPELANDS (with Guida Casella, Lx Factory–LerDevagar, 2021).
In 2022 Overdrive [poetry 07.21] (Imprensa Nacional–Casa da Moeda, 2022) brings together the quintet in one volume. Thaumatrope, View-Master, Fade Out, MACH and Mustang, this last book being unpublished.
