ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Benedita Stingl

Benedita Stingl was born in Fafe on June 1, 1963. She has been a nurse since 1985 and a beautician since 1993.
She taught at the Santa Maria Higher School of Nursing in Porto and at the Júlio Saúl Dias Primary and Secondary School in Vila do Conde.
She is a member of the Portuguese Writers' Association and the Arts and Letters Center of Fafe. She has participated in the anthologies: Perfil, Olhares, Vozes Várias, Mar de Manhãs, Palavras de Cristal and in the following anthologies: VII Festival de Poesia do Baixo Minho, Poetas de Sempre, Sarapicos de Natal, Contos para o Natal – antologia de Natal, as well as the magazine O Escritor, published by the Portuguese Writers' Association.
It appears in both editions of the Dictionary of Fafenses and won the Arts and Letters Prize in 2002 and the Culture Prize – Golden Microphones in 2002 and 2004.
He dedicates himself to promoting his work through colloquiums, presentations, and workshops in bookstores, libraries, schools, and cultural spaces throughout the country.
