Neste livro seguimos a história de Semiramis, uma mulher corajosa e disposta a tudo para ganhar na vida, e que se tornou a primeira rainha da Assíria, bem como do seu marido, Ones, e o melhor amigo deste, o rei Ninus. É uma história envolvente, com muita ação, que nos ensina muito sobre como era a vida nesta altura, e gostei particulamente da forma como explora o stress pós-traumático de pessoas que vivem rodeadas de guerra e violência. Já tinha gostado do Clitemnestra da mesma autora mas gostei ainda mais deste, muito recomendado para quem gosta de ficção mitológica.
