Carolyn Keene

Carolyn Keene foi o pseudónimo usado pelas várias autoras da coleção Nancy Drew, originalmente criada por Edward Stratemeyer, fundador da Stratemeyer Syndicate, uma empresa de produção editorial, em finais da década de 1920 e inícios da década de 1930. Stratemeyer contratava escritores para escreverem os manuscritos das aventuras de Nancy Drew, a quem pagava 125 dólares a troco da cedência dos direitos da obra e da garantia da confidencialidade.

A primeira escritora por detrás desta coleção foi Mildred Wirt Benson. Mais tarde, depois da saída de Edward Stratemeyer, os livros originais foram rescritos pela filha, Harriet Adams, que acrescentou também novos títulos à coleção. Mildred Wirt Benson (1905-2002) era jornalista e escreveu sob o pseudónimo de Carolyn Keene entre 1929 e 1947.
