Pedro Lains

Pedro Lains foi investigador coordenador do Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa, professor convidado da Faculdade de Economia e Gestão da Universidade Católica, e membro do Instituto Laureano Figuerola da Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Foi professor visitante da Faculdade de Economia da UNL, das Universidades Carlos III de Madrid, Brown e Évora; e presidente da Associação Portuguesa de História Económica e Social, diretor da Imprensa de Ciências Sociais, secretário-geral da European Historical Economics Society, e diretor da revista Análise Social. Tem como área principal de investigação a História Económica dos séculos XIX e XX, preocupando-se sobretudo com o estudo do crescimento económico no longo prazo de Portugal e dos países periféricos da Europa, com o estudo da integração europeia e com os problemas atuais da economia portuguesa.
