ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Edvard Grieg
Edvard Grieg foi um dos compositores mais proeminentes da Noruega e uma figura central no romantismo musical do século XIX. Nascido a 15 de junho de 1843 em Bergen, Noruega, e falecido a 4 de setembro de 1907 na mesma cidade, Grieg é amplamente reconhecido por sua capacidade de incorporar a música folclórica norueguesa em suas composições, criando uma sonoridade distintamente nacional que ainda assim ressoava com o público internacional.
Grieg começou a estudar música ainda jovem, influenciado por sua mãe, que era pianista. Mais tarde, ele estudou no Conservatório de Leipzig, na Alemanha, onde teve contato com as tradições musicais europeias mais amplas. No entanto, foi ao retornar à Noruega que Grieg começou a explorar as raízes musicais de sua terra natal, buscando criar uma música que refletisse a identidade cultural norueguesa.
