I've been writing the science fiction stories that I want to read. That is a simple statement but, after a childhood filled with abuse, it has taken a lot of courage to finally put into print. In this story, The Disappearance of Dog River takes place on Earth in the year 1823. An off-world race enlists the people of a small rural town to help mine the valuable ores and elements native to Earth. During a harsh Minnesota winter, most of the townspeople working for the Colar find that they are safe, warm, treated well, and are paid in gold. When the decision was made to accompany the alien race and leave the harsh conditions on Earth, the eighty-plus residents of Dog River realize and understand the differences between an abduction, and a job interview. Written for all ages.
