ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Linda Grant

Linda Grant was born in Liverpool in 1951, the daughter of Jewish immigrants, one Russian and the other Polish. She studied in England, the USA, and Canada, where she lived from 1977 to 1984. Back in Great Britain, she became a journalist, contributing to various publications. She wrote several books, but also radio plays, short stories, and essays. Her works, which have won numerous awards, have been translated into 13 languages. Main works by the author:
Cast Iron Shore (1996), his first novel, won the David Higham First Novel Award and was nominated for the Guardian Fiction Prize. Remind Me Who I Am Again won the MIND/Allen Lane Book of the Year and the Age Concern Book of the Year. When I Lived in Modern Times (2000) his second novel won the Orange Prize for Fiction and was nominated for the Jewish Quarterly Prize and the Encore Prize. Still Here (2002) was nominated for the Booker Prize. The People in the Street: A View from Israeli Writers He won the Lettre Ulysses Prize for Literary Reporting.
