This book is the 10th volume of Contemporary Issues in Mediation (CIIM), a thought-leadership publication edited by Singapore's leading experts on mediation and negotiation, Professor Joel Lee and Marcus Lim. Each volume of CIIM compiles the top submissions from the annual mediation essay competition organised by the Singapore International Mediation Institute, presenting cutting-edge perspectives on mediation and dispute resolution.

Unlike most publications that adopt a primarily descriptive approach, CIIM distinguishes itself by introducing an evaluative component to the study of mediation concepts and practices.
