Yotam Ottolenghi nasceu em Jerusalém, mas vive em Londres desde 1997. Esse foi também o ano em que se iniciou na alta cozinha. Em 2011, abriu o seu quinto restaurante em Londres, o NOPI. Escreve uma coluna semanal no britânico The Guardian que, durante quatro anos, teve o título The New Vegetarian - e que esteve na origem deste extraordinário livro. Os seus dois livros, publicados em diversos países, foram verdadeiros bestsellers. O Novo Vegetariano venceu o Galaxy National Book Award em 2010.
