Waldemar De Maio é mestre e doutor em Educação Matemática, títulos concedidos pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo e pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. Graduou-se em Matemática pela Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Atualmente é diretor da WM Consultoria em Educação, lecionando em cursos de pós-graduação e de capacitação de docentes, além de ministrar palestras em instituições de ensino superior e básico. Tem experiência em toda a área de Matemática, com ênfase em Geometria Algébrica, atuando principalmente em lógica matemática e raciocínio lógico, educação da matemática, educação à distância e neurofisiologia, entre outros campos. Dedica-se ainda à pesquisa sobre neurologia com aplicações no aprendizado e na aquisição de conhecimento. É dele a coordenação da série Fundamentos da Matemática.
