Teresa Morais

The Public Prosecutor's Office coordinates the sections of the Porto DIAP (Department of Investigation and Prosecution) with jurisdiction for the investigation of homicides, organized and especially violent crime (10th Section) and crimes of domestic violence, mistreatment and sexual crime (1st Section). In this latter Section, she created and implemented, in 2013, the project called "One Step Further," aimed at streamlining procedures for a faster response to victims of domestic violence crimes, creating partnerships with the Porto Public Security Police, the Porto Delegation of the INMLCF (National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences), and the School of Criminology of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. She has participated in several conferences related to, among other things, the topic of domestic violence (against adults, the elderly, and children). She is a member of the Specialized Group on Gender Issues of the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors (AIAMP).
