Pierdomenico Baccalario nasceu a 6 de Março de 1974 em Acqui Terme, uma pequena e bonita cidade piemontesa. Começou a escrever no liceu. Quando frequentava Jurisprudência na universidade, ganhou o prémio Batello a Vapore com o romance La Strada del Guerriero, e a partir desse momento começou a publicar romances. Depois da licenciatura encarregou-se de museus e projectos culturais. Começou a viajar e a mudar de horizontes: Celle Ligure, Pisa, Roma, Verona. Adora ver novos lugares e descobrir modos de vida diferentes, embora, no fim, se refugie sempre num albergue no Val de Susa.
