A Odete nasceu no Zimbabwe, onde viveu os primeiros anos da sua vida antes de ir para o Algarve. É licenciada em Design Industrial na Faculdade Superior de Belas Artes em Lisboa. Em 2003, depois de diversos anos como "curiosa" do chocolate, lança o Cacau Clube de Portugal, ao qual continua a presidir, e através do qual promove, com o apoio de muitos amantes do chocolate, eventos e certames dedicados ao conhecimento e apreciação do chocolate de qualidade. Com o intuito de balizar os seus conhecimentos sobre chocolate e colocá-lo no contexto de uma alimentação equilibrada e saudável, cursa Nutrição Humana Social e Escolar no Instituto Superior Piaget de Almada, que termina em 2011.
