O Dr. Mehmet C. Oz até recentemente diretor do Instituto Cardiovascular do Presbyterian Hospital da Universidade de Columbia, em Nova Iorque – unidade onde o ex-presidente americano Bill Clinton fez com sucesso um quádruplo bypass. Apesar de ser um dos mais cotados cirurgiões cardiovasculares, prefere prevenir as doenças cardíacas a ter de operar.
Formado na Universidade de Harvard e com um mestrado na Universidade da Pensilvânia, manteve durante anos uma presença regular no programa de Oprah Winfrey com a rubrica Ask Dr. Oz. Desde 2009 tem o seu próprio programa, The Dr. Oz Show.
