Mariana P. Marques é bióloga, atualmente doutoranda no CIBIO – Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos da Universidade do Porto. É autora do primeiro atlas dos anfíbios e répteis de Angola (publicado em 2018) e dedica-se ao estudo da diversidade de anfíbios e répteis africanos e à gestão de coleções de história natural. Já participou em mais de dez expedições científicas em Angola e São Tomé e Príncipe.
