Luís Naves nasceu em Lisboa, em 1961. Foi durante duas décadas jornalista de economia e internacional no DN, assinando reportagens na Guiné-Bissau (conflito de 1998) e no Paquistão (após o 11 de setembro de 2001). Escreveu crónicas em vários jornais e teve colaboração regular na Imprensa, nomeadamente na revista Ler, mas também na blogosfera nacional.
Dedica-se atualmente à escrita de ficção e não ficção, nas áreas do conto, do romance e do ensaio. Luís Naves tem nove livros publicados, entre eles O Silêncio do Vento (romance, Campo das Letras, 1998), Homens no Fio (novela, Campo das Letras, 2006), Territórios de Caça, (romance, Quetzal, 2009), Jardim Botânico (romance, Quetzal, 2012), Portugal Visto pela CIA (ensaio, Bertrand, 2017).
