José Carlos Rodrigues nasceu em 1958. Dezanove anos depois dava os primeiros passos no jornalismo. A profissão de jornalista e o seu gosto pelos passeios gastronómicos levaram-no a quase todos os recantos de Portugal. Foi petiscando aqui e ali. E foi tomando notas. Andou pelas rádios nacionais, ajudou a formar rádios regionais, foi jornalista de política, de espectáculos, de economia e até professor destas artes de relatar sem inventar, de escrever sem ficcionar a realidade.
