Joana Troni nasceu em Lisboa e é doutoranda da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. Publicou recentemente a sua tese de mestrado Catarina de Bragança (1638-1705), Lisboa, Colibri, 2008. Tem desenvolvido trabalhos no âmbito da História do poder e da Casa Real e tem participado em projetos e congressos nacionais e internacionais, sendo também coautora dos livros Amantes dos Reis de Portugal, Amantes dos Reis de França e A Vida Privada dos Bragança editados pela Esfera dos Livros.
