Nascido em Nantes em 1923, Jean Graton conjugou duas paixões ao longo da vida - arte e desporto – Ilustrou através dos seus desenhos e nas pranchas da banda desenhada que foi criando desde 1957, a personagem do piloto de Fórmula 1 Michel Vaillant, protagonista de uma série de histórias em quadradinhos repletas de pistas de automobilismo, carros, velocidade e muitas aventuras . Faleceu em janeiro de 2021, com 97 anos, tendo deixado um largo legado de livros e memórias dos tempos mais ricos da Bd Franco belga.
