Gustavo Castelo-Branco

Gustavo Castelo-Branco é Professor Catedrático Emérito do Instituto Superior Técnico. Doutorou-se em Física em 1976, no City College em Nova Iorque. No início dos anos 1980 juntou-se ao corpo docente do IST. Ganhou vários prémios entre os quais o Prémio Gulbenkian da Ciência em 1999 e o Prémio von Humboldt de Investigação em 2004. Foi condecorado pelo Presidente da República Portuguesa em 2005. Teve um papel fundamental na criação do grupo que lidera a investigação em Física Teórica de Partículas em Portugal, o CFTP.
