Filomena Naves nasceu em Lisboa, em maio de 1958. Estudou psicologia no ISPA e dedicou-se ao jornalismo. É desde 1992, jornalista de ciência no Diário de Notícias, jornal para o qual fez reportagens nos Açores, na Ucrânia e nos Estados Unidos, entre outros. É co-autora do livro Por Que Choramos Quando Cortamos Uma Cebola?, publicado na Esfera dos Livros.
