Félix Cucurull

Fèlix Cucurull. (1919-1996), romancista, poeta, ensaísta e tradutor catalão, foi, sobretudo, um grande defensor da cultura da Catalunha. Combateu contra a repressão exercida pelo franquismo e a agressiva aculturação a que as diferentes regiões de Espanha foram submetidas. Militou na Assembleia da Catalunha, na Frente Nacional da Catalunha, no Partido Socialista de Libertação Nacional.
Viveu em Portugal, graças a uma bolsa da Fundação Gulbenkian, entre 1963 e 1965. Colaborou no Diário de Notícias, no Diário de Lisboa e na Colóquio/Letras, entre outras publicações.
Traduziu diversos livros de autores portugueses para catalão e colaborou, com Manuel Seabra, na edição de uma antologia de contos e poemas portugueses, que inclui textos de escritores como Camilo Castelo Branco, Eça de Queirós, Raul Brandão, Aquilino Ribeiro, José Gomes Ferreira ou Branquinho da Fonseca.
