Steven Laureys is an award-winning Belgian neuroscientist specializing in the neurology of consciousness.
He is a clinical professor in the neurobiology department at the University of Liège and director of... Coma Science Group, which he founded in 2006.
For more than 25 years, he has been conducting research on the workings of the human mind.
Most of his research is dedicated to studying altered states of consciousness in comatose patients, under hypnosis, as well as during anesthesia, sleep, or meditation.
He is the author of numerous scientific articles and several books on the subject.
