Historiador e antigo diretor do Memorial de Caen, tem várias obras premiadas: recebeu o Prémio Marianne 2015 por L'effrayant docteur Petiot - fou ou coupable?; o Prémio Therouanne 1982 por De par le Roy. Essai sur les lettres de cachet; e a medalha de prata do Prémio <>Therouanne 1989 por La Bastille. Publicou muitas outras obras, entre as quais Tout sur Mein Kampf, La Seconde Guerre mondiale, Les Opérations les plus extraordinaires de la Seconde Guerre mondiale e Hitler, Verdades e Lendas.
